授業の主題 / Topic

The key technology of modern electronics supporting the advanced information society is the analog and a digital electronic circuit. In this course, the students learn the design fundamentals of electronic circuits including discrete diodes and transistors. The electronic circuit simulator should be installed on your notebook, because it is a powerful tool that enables you to design the practical circuit with a variety of semiconductor devices. For all students in the field of electronics and computer engineering, it is essential to have a viewpoint based on the semiconductor device technology to be able to understand information systems and technical trends in the information revolution.
授業の目標 / Objective

Most semiconductor devices show complicated non-linear characteristics between the current and voltage as well as between the input and output. On this account, the equations of the circuits including the semiconductor devices are analytically unsolvable. However, we can obtain the numerical solutions of the circuit equations by the help of the electronic circuit simulator. Students should understand how to use the circuit simulator and learn the method of analysis and design of typical analog circuits, such as LED controllers, basic amplifiers, operational amplifiers, oscillators and voltage regulators. Through various circuit simulations, the students can understand how functions of electronic circuits are connected to certain characteristics of a single transistor.

[Assignments for active learning]
The students should bring their notebook computer in the class and carry out simulations of the circuit examples. If you cannot finish in time, complete the simulations remaining at home and report the observed results of the simulation for the each design.
評価の方法 / Grading Method
 Performance rating:
  Grade will be decided holistically as below, based on the following terms/rates.
  「S(Academic achievement 90%〜100%)」,「A(over80%, less than90%)」,
「B(over 70%, less than80%)」, and「C(over60%, less than70%)」 are indicators of passing,
「不可(less than 60%)」is an indicator of failure.(Standard rating method)

[予習] 次回の講義内容についてweb配付している講義資料当該部を読んでくること。
[復習] 講義のあった当日に再度テキスト・ノートにて復習し、下記の課題を実施すること。
[課題] 講義時間中に終わらなかったシミュレーションは、講義資料の指示に従って回路シミュレーションを行い、解析結果と考察をレポートとして提出すること。
[ノートPC] 回路シミュレーションにより電子回路の動作や特性を確認しながら講義を進めるため、ノートPCが必要。講義室に電源コンセントが用意されていないため、予め充電しておくこと。

Prepare for the next course by reading the corresponding portions in the course materials.
Review the course using the texts as well as other materials, and carry out the following assignments.
Assignments: Report the observed results of the simulation for the each design example using the electronic circuit simulator installed in your computer.
[Notebook computer] The students should bring the notebook in the class to be able to carry out the circuit simulation of design examples. Charge up your notebook before the start of the class, because there are no electrical outlets in the lecture room.
